Launched as an entry level caravan to replace the Ranger series, the Bailey Orion is designed to be a low cost, lightweight tourer for first time buyers who want something that’s easy to tow with a standard family car. Even though they come in a variety of different layouts, the way they’ve been designed is such that even the larger berth caravans have a noticeable smaller profile and so are easier to park and store. Bailey Orion mattresses tend to be one of two types: a set of single odd size mattresses to fit into the Bailey Orion 450-5, or a double french bed mattress for the Bailey Orion 430-4 and Bailey Orion 530-6.

What do we think of the Bailey Orion range?
Released between 2011-2013, the Bailey Orion range was fairly short lived but made quite a splash while they were around, and some of their design choices were later integrated into the vastly more successful Orion range. One of the most affordable Bailey caravan ranges to be built with their patented Alu-Tech construction, the interlocking aluminium panels make for a more aerodynamic design meaning it’s far more economical (and easier) to tow. This combined with the AL-KO stabiliser that’s built in as standard means these smaller caravans are an absolute dream to tow, even with a smaller family car. Bailey’s aim with the Bailey Orion was to be able to fit more popular layouts with fixed beds into caravans with far smaller frames, meaning that first time owners would be able to experience a more premium experience at a vastly reduced cost. Bailey are excellent at making the most of the size they have available and they pack as much storage as they can into as many little nooks and crannies as possible. The Orion series maintains a real sense of space and never feels overly cramped, especially considering the amount of fixtures and fittings that feature throughout the caravan.
