Easily recognised by their aluminium body work and unique curves, Airstream has become one of the most iconic caravan brands in the world! Dating back to the 1930’s, Airstream trailers are manufactured in Ohio, USA where they currently produce around 75 caravans per week. Airstream currently offer three models made specifically for the British market, the Airstream Missouri, Yukon, and Colorado. These models have been specially created with smaller dimensions to accommodate narrower European roads. Many however are still happy to opt for the full size models crafted to cater for the American market and for this reason we regularly get asked to create replacement mattresses for Airstream caravans. The unique shape would traditionally make it tricky to source a mattress, however our made to measure range of caravan mattresses can be cut to fit any model of Airstream caravan without difficulty!
Recent case study
We were recently contacted by an interior design company based in St Albans, who were trying to find someone that could custom make a mattress for this amazing 1954 Airstream Touring Trailer. At “Custom Size Beds” we are able to make mattress for caravans of any make or model including all models of Airstream caravans. To provide the finishing touch to the project and ensure a pleasurable sleep we were asked to produce a bespoke replacement mattress to fit into the caravan.

Cut to fit your Airstream caravan
The required dimensions were sent to us as a basic drawing and using our CAD software we were able to produce an accurate production plan allowing us to check that all of the measurements translate correctly into the required shape. This gives the customer an opportunity to check that the fit of the Airstream replacement mattress is correct. They chose one of our Premium Memory Foam Mattresses for their latest project, which helps to bring a modern touch of comfort to the vintage 1954 Airstream travel trailer caravan.
