How to measure your new mattress
When taking measurements, you can measure your bed frame or existing mattress. For the very best results however, we recommend measuring the bed frame in line with the guidance offered below:
Is your mattress enclosed?
If your mattress sits inside a frame or in-between walls, we recommend ordering a width and length 2CM smaller than the space it fits in. This gives a 1CM gap all the way round, perfect for tucking in sheets with ease!
Does your mattress sit freely on top of a base?
If your mattress isn’t enclosed (such as a divan bed), then there’s no need to make any reductions to your measurements and you will get the best finish by going with exact dimensions.
What thickness should you order
Looking for the best night’s sleep?
If you have no restrictions on height, we recommend a depth of 20cm (8 inches) for ultimate comfort.
Need a thinner mattress?
If a thinner mattress is required, please follow the guidance below:
- 12cm or less: Upgrade to a firm feel for improved support
- 13cm and above: Read our guide on “weight considerations”
Which firmness rating should you order?
Regardless of your chosen firmness rating, the top layer of your mattress will remain the same. This means you’ll still enjoy the same level of comfort and pressure relief that you’d expect up top.
When you upgrade to a firmer feel, the bottom layer is swapped for a more supportive, higher density foam. This helps to provide you with a better level of support, as well as preventing you from sinking into the mattress as much.
For those that like their mattress to have a little more ‘give’, the standard firmness rating is usually the preferred choice.
Weight considerations
Under 15 stone?
If you weigh less than 15 stone, you can opt for any firmness rating providing your mattress has a thickness of 13cm or above. If thickness is less than 13cm, we recommending upgrading to our firmer feel for enhanced support.
Over 15 stone?
If you weigh 15 stone and above (but less than 20 stone), be sure to upgrade to our firmer feel for enhanced support.

It was so amazing that my wife wanted one at home so we bought a single super king and replaced her water mattress and it fit perfectly in the water bed mattress cover beside my water mattress. Love this mattress, it’s super comfy and just perfect for our little girls custom made mid sleeper bed! Was a bit dubious at first with opting for a memoryfoam, although I’m so glad I did! It makes it so much easier when changing bedding (I had a 1000 sprung mattress on her bed before, total nightmare to change!). And the temperature doesn’t seem to affect her even in this heat, so hopefully the gel element is working. The mattress was brought for a non standard sized bed in a box room, I was a bit worried about it being memory foam as I’ve slept on memory foam before and didn’t really like it so thats why I chose the ComfiCel Cool option. I needn’t have worried, the mattress is very comfortable, in the two weeks I’ve had it, I’ve slept better than I have in ages. The only down side is because it is thick it is a bit hard to pull out as the bed is enclosed on three sides and some sort of handle would would have made it easier. I also ordered a pair of custom fitted sheets to go with it which are excellent.

First, the product is fantastic. Do not think because it is custom made to your individual sizing the quality will be impacted. The quality is terrific.
The website gives an excellent guide on how you should provide your specific sizing except for bed thickness. I could not see any guidance on how thick the mattress should be (many options are given, and you are left unsure which would be right for you)
The only issues I would have is with the product delivery. Once we had the order confirmation, we heard no more until it was delivered. No guidance of when it is coming or delivery tracking
The mattress was delivered whilst we were away and placed behind our back gate. Luckily it never rained before we returned. (The cardboard outer would have been soaked but I guess the mattress would have been protected by the next polythene wrapping layer.
All in all, excellent product, excellent website, poor logistics notifications.

I needed a slightly shorter single mattress for my sons altered bed (awkward sized bedroom). Easy to order. The mattress is far better than I expected. Very impressed, firm but extremely comfortable. The only thing I’d say is the width is generous…because of the quality of the mattress it doesn’t give well for fitting in the bed. We got it in but next time I would order a cm narrower to make putting sheets on easier. My fault for not thinking about that when ordering as I just used the measurements that were written on the previous mattress by a different company. Would definitely use again!!

We were a little disappointed with the mattress cover – this was damaged from the heat sealing of the vacuum pack. There was also damage to the base foam of one of the mattresses, possibly due to a tear when packaging but chose not to return as it is at the underside and we used our mattress covers from the original mattresses which are better quality and still in very good condition.

After 10+years on a very firm mattress we decided on a memory foam mattress to improve the quality of sleep. Tried several companies on the web but none could offer a custom size – our bed measures 210×160, made in Germany for taller people like myself.
Then I found Custom Size Beds and liked the look of the Cool memory foam – an advance on the usual and often very warm memory foam. Order and delivery was all done in just a few days despite the extra length, couldn’t have asked for more! And a big plus… the price was around half of the other companies.
I overheated the first night – slightly alarmed, thinking this might be a regular occurrence, but I realised I had slept with the down pushed up for bitter weather. Ensuing nights I’ve had the down more to my feet and enjoyed the comfort of sleeping really well.

Have now bought two of these with the additional “firm” option, to replace the single bed mattresses in our caravan, which were the original Swift memory foam ones. The original matresses did not give good support, made you feel uncomfortably hot during the night and made it difficult to move position. Bought the first one during the summer 2018 and had the opportunity to test it out in September – much better support and movement without feeling too hot, so have replaced the other side, which is a slightly different size. Very fast delivery on each mattress and they are supplied with a zipped cover.
Incidentally the original first mattress was slightly shaped at the head end but ordering the replacement very slightly shorter meant we could order a rectangular one making a saving in cost and no difference to the feel.

The mattress arrived very quickly and I’ve been using it for about ten days now and find it a very good product even in so short a time, and very comfortable and supportive (my last one, not from this Company sagged within a month of using it! ) and it does get back to its normal height very quickly after vacating the bed.
My only slight concern is that the packaging was badly torn on delivery and I noted this on the delivery slip. However the mattress was not damaged at all.

Great service and very nice people to do business with. I needed help and advice in placing an order at 16:30 wednesday evening for two matresses and after being directed through the process the order was placed. At 09:00 Friday morning they were delivered great service. But the best was yet to come they were so comfortable and now having spent two months in spain I have had some of the best nights sleep also the comficel cool really works. Very easy to order, swift delivery from order in 2 days, the mattress is very compact on delivery so fitting into the motorhome was simple and it fitted perfectly when unwrapped. Great service and would highly recommend these folks for a mattress!
